Domodossola is a lively town located in the heart of Ossola. It has been titled for some years as the "Borgo della Cultura" offering visitors a fully restored historical city center closed to traffic... a beautiful medieval village containing numerous architectural and artistic treasures.

Piazza Mercato is a real "living room” for the city; the heart of the historic city center. Typically Renaissance and commissioned and granted in 917 AD by Berengar I, you can enjoy the great Mercato del Sabato throughout the year.
From the Piazza Mercato, follow along until you reach the old Via Briona, considered the most characteristic street in Domodossola and where you can see the Tower of the Palazzo del Vescovo (Bishop's Palace) dating back to 1300 AD.
The city also offers several museums like the Palazzo Silva, Palazzo Mellerio, Collegio Rosmini and Palazzo San Francesco.

Nestled in the Toce river valley surrounded by beautiful hills, Domodossola is at the center of the Ossolane Valleys, a place of passage visited by Italians and foreigners and destination for many tourists and vacationers:
the ski resorts of Lusentino, Macugnaga and San Domenico... the thermal baths of Premia and Bognanco... the religious structures of the Sacro Monte Calvario, the Santuario di Re (santuary) and the Madonna del Boden... the Cascata del Toce (Waterfalls) and Orridi di Uriezzo... Monte Rosa... the Natural Parks and UNESCO sites... the alpine lakes, the Walser settlements and the hiking trails... these are just some of the treasures to be discovered in the fascinating Ossola territory.
